Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko fights as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. She is also the older sister of the former UFC Flyweight champ and the fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into fighting sports by becoming a Muay Thai boxer. Shevchenko made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous vote. Antonina won a medal of silver in 2007 followed by a medal of bronze in 2008, and a gold medal with gold in 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA World Amateur Muaythai Champion of 2016 by IFMA. Antonia's professional debut came in 2003. She won in 2012 the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina has fought her last time against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won unanimously. Antonina Schevchenko kicked off career-long MMA career in 2002 after the victory over Anara Baanova at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She won 3-0 following in the second round TKO. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed after this win. Antonina was offered a UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko took the win with a unanimous decision. Antonina returned to the ring after the defeat and beat Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission in the second round. This fight earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko won her first three bouts, but lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
